My inquiry will fulfil two practice improvement outcomes. Firstly, it will minimize the prevalence and incidence of venous thromboembolisms in the ICU. Secondly, it will optimize venous thromboembolism risk stratification for all patients admitted to the ICU department. As such, the inquiry explores three interventions. Using evidence-based pharmacotherapy, venous thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis will be accomplished (Chi et al., 2020). Also, ultrasound screening will be used to diagnose and identify patients at risk of VTE.
